Back in his native Ireland, the Duke's thoughts turn to domestic tranquility after courting Maureen O'Hara, but her brother (Victor McLaglen) may need to have some common sense knocked into him -- literally -- before the deal is done. The film won two Academy Awards, including Best Director (John Ford).

Boys Town

Spencer Tracy nabbed his second consecutive Best Actor Oscar for his performance as Father Flanagan, a Catholic priest who founds a community for wayward youths. Flanagan believes that bad environments create juvenile delinquents and adult criminals and sets about redeeming troubled teens through education and responsibility. Mickey Rooney plays troublemaker Whitey Marsh, the toughest kid in the bunch. Also includes the film Men of Boys Town.

Spirit: Stallion of the Cimarron

Incredible animation and a story for all ages are expertly combined in this Old West epic. Matt Damon provides the narrative voice for Spirit, a mustang born in the wild and captured by brutal U.S. cavalry officers. Although he is eventually rescued by a Lakota Indian, Spirit never stops trying to get back home, along the way encountering good and bad experiences with human beings -- and love with a beautiful mare.
