Breaking Bad: Season 1

Damages: Season 1

This legal drama stars Glenn Close as steely litigator Patty Hewes, head of the revered Hewes & Associates. Dedicated to their work, Patty, protégée Ellen Parsons (Rose Byrne) and senior associate Tom Shayes (Tate Donovan) battle CEO Arthur Frobisher (Ted Danson) in a class-action suit. Casino Royale

Martin Campbell (GoldenEye) directs the 21st film adaptation of the 007 franchise, which marks Daniel Craig's debut as James Bond and plays him against a corrupt financier (Mads Mikkelsen) in a showdown of Texas Hold 'Em. Eva Green stars as Vesper Lynd, and the sublime Judi Dench reprises her role as M. Because the action is based on Ian Fleming's first novel, you'll also learn critical facts about Bond's back story.

Lucky Number Slevin

While checking out his missing friend Nick's apartment, Slevin (Josh Hartnett) is mistaken for Nick by thugs and forced to participate in a high-profile murder for a powerful crime boss (Morgan Freeman), making it all too clear how much trouble Nick's actually in. Ben Kingsley, Stanley Tucci, Lucy Liu and Bruce Willis co-star in this noir crime thriller from director Paul McGuigan, who previously teamed with Hartnett for Wicker Park.

The Outer Limits: The New Series: Sex and Science Fiction

Up for a little spicy sci-fi? The Outer Limits, the sci-fi cult favorite of the 1960s, spawned a popular sequel series in 1995. Comedian Jim Gaffigan offers up his unique take on bacon, bowling and other weighty topics in this smart and hilarious stand-up performance filmed live in Austin at the end of his sold-out 2008 comedy tour. Known for his fond attachment to slothful and indulgent behavior, Gaffigan has garnered a huge and enthusiastic fan following. In addition to frequent appearances on late-night talk shows, he has acted in numerous films and television shows.

Nine Inch Nails: And All That Could Have Been

Lie to Me: Season 1

The Mentalist: Season 1

Simon Baker (in his first Emmy-nominated role) stars as Patrick Jane, a rogue detective and case-cracking consultant for the California Bureau of Investigation -- a far cry from his last gig as a semi-famous "psychic medium" with no paranormal abilities. Working against the clock, her ex-spy father (Liam Neeson) must pull out all the stops to save her. But with his best years possibly behind him, the job may be more than he can handle. Famke Janssen also stars in this relentless action-thriller from director Pierre Morel.

Fringe: Season 1

Searching for answers after a plane inexplicably lands with all its passengers and crew dead, FBI agent Olivia Dunham (Anna Torv) tracks down eccentric Dr. Walter Bishop (John Noble), a brilliant but institutionalized scientist, to help her solve the mystery. But she'll need the help of his estranged son, Peter (Joshua Jackson), in order to connect with Bishop, and the three soon team up to explore paranormal phenomena in this sci-fi series.

Serenity

Picking up where his cult show "Firefly" left off, writer-director Joss Whedon's tale of galactic unrest follows Malcolm Reynolds (Nathan Fillion), captain of the transport ship Serenity, and his scrappy but loyal crew. When the ship picks up two fugitives from the powerful coalition ruling the universe, "Mal" and his mates find themselves at the center of a cosmic conflict, pursued by military forces and space-roaming savages.

Batman the Animated Series: Secrets of the Caped Crusader

Cave-dwelling superhero Batman protects his beloved Gotham City from evil-doers in this collection of four animated adventures from the Emmy Award-winning series. The caped crusader must battle some of Gotham's most dastardly villains, including the flirty feline Catwoman, the cold-hearted Mr. Freeze and an invisible crook.
