Kaze No Stigma: Season 1: Part 2

This made them equally attractive creating a desire to know more about Kazuma, Ayano and the gang. Because, let face it, when was the last time you had a protagonist who knew how to handle a chick like Ayano. ALERT ** SW seeking Kazuma.** hint, hint! The relationships between the characters are amazing and realistic (except for the magic). Fans are hoping for another season and so am I, but that may be in the air since the author/mangaka Takahiro Yamato passed away recently (June 2009). He was unable to complete the series but what he did give us we will treasure. Domo Arigato Gozaimasu Takahiro Yamato-san.

Not my favourite. Goddess did a review and I agree with her whole heartedly. Tarheel Chemist also mentioned in their review ¿this is a teen romance disguised as a vampire movie¿ and they are right. I will watch the next one with the hope that it is better directorially. I am not knocking the fans of the books just that it would be sad if the movie was a true representation of the book's essence. Something is missing and hopefully Chris Weitz can find it.

I have not read the manga for this one so I relied heavily on the films. Part 2 does just that, it tells you what happened next. Some may argue about the presentation of the story and its one-sided nature (primary focus on Nana H.) as being the let down; even the change in actors (Mummy 3 anyone?!?!). Yet, the music was on point & the shocker of what happen to Nana H. was overwhelming – drama people! Takumi and Nobuo stole the show and the development of Shin was nice to see. It is not to the level of Nana 1 but does come full circle and if that is what you are looking for then this film works for you. 5 stars – why- because I ‘bout jumped out of bed when Takumi locked himself in Nana’s room and made a phone call!!!!!

The story of the nemesis was not developed, nor were any of the side stories explored. Result: erratic storytelling with good CGI and fight scenes mingled in. To understand any particular story line you would have to watch the English version. To approach the complexity of the characters and story watch the original. I wish that I could give it a higher grade but that would be unfair.

I saw Interview With A Vampire 5 times in the movie theater. If this was out in the US I would have seen it 7 times if not more. I am captivated now as I was then. I have a crush on the film (blushing). I have not wanted to cry for a movie in a long time. If you are a Goth, Emo, Vampy, or D&D then you will love this film. My review is simple - I loved it.

<a href="http://www.netflix.com/Movie/Devil_Face_Angel_Heart/60025083"><img src="http://cdn-0.nflximg.com/us/boxshots/small/60025083.jpg"/></a><br>Shocker! - I love this film. I am sort of mid-night watcher of cheesy foreign exploitation films engaging in noir-ish, sweaty-like and semi-erotic human encounters. Plus Blood. The genre that used to fill 70's theaters and 80's Beta/VHS is slowly fading away. But, there is hope. Billy Chung (director) movies always seem to be off centered, never 100% of a particular genre. In this film he swings his hips to a noir, crime, betrayal, revenge beat, and we dance along with his tempo. Daniel Wu (Lon) fans and stalkers, there are a few scenes that may make you shout AMEN! This movie rest on Wu's shoulders. Lon¿s character is riddle w/ self-abased trauma that amplifies Wu's acting style; fits perfectly. Don't mention Gigi's ability to act as victim / villain; making love under your lover's nose, classic! Stephen Fung (sideline character - cop), Lam Suet (protective brother Kwan) &amp; Sam Lee (the cop's bf) all making cameos. Yet, the best part, other than the licking scenes - making me wishing I was the EGG, were the subtitles. I wish I knew Chinese cause I was like "did they really say that?!?!?" - Sorry, but I was ROFL. The editing snafu's were because of censorship, but it didn't detract from the pace. Look, this is not for everyone. If you want a serious film then Daniel Wu in Protégé, Stephen Fung in Bishonen, Lam Suet in PTU and Sam Lee in Dragon Reloaded (silent but present). But, if you are in the mood for a midnight flick this will do.

Yeah!!!!! I am all for action these days and Donnie feds my compulsive desire. Let me just say for the record though, “What was with all the naked chicks, hoping around in the beginning of Holy Virgin vs. Evil Dead?” That just had me shaking my head. I look forward, one day, to a bunch of naked men, hoping around in the beginning of a movie. (Filmmakers out there I have a list of men I would like to submit!) Off my soap box, down to business. Heroes Among Heroes (Fist of the Red Dragon) was soooooooo good, not just the fighting and the acting but the story line had real depth. Dark City was not my favourite because of the role they placed him in (a bit side line and only used for fighting). Cheetah on Fire had such a sad ending – very 80’s like. However, I believe the film did more to show the acting style that Donnie uses in later films. All in All, I loved it! If you are a fan of Donnie’s you will love it too.

If you are a fan of Andy, Daniel or Louis.… If you are a fan of stories that are character driven…. If you can appreciate the difference between the Hollywood’s Empty Beautification of a film and the natural allure of a film with an independent artistic aura then this is the movie for you. Not enough can be said about the entertaining value of this film, it’s realistic pace and superb imagery. Some maybe tempted to compare it to Traffic (2000) because of the Illegal Drugs focus but before you step into the typical Western reaction – take a moment to absorb and appreciate this film as it stands. Protégé is a must see, gotta have it, net Flick it, red box it and ship it movie.

That’s right, I admit, I had a Fergie. It happened when Dragon (Ronald Cheung) decided to impress his girl by taking on the neighboring bully Tiger (Ken Lo) with a hilarious result. **No Spoiler Here Folks** Just note that comedy style is propelled by Ronald’s charisma. This film is not for those who get their comedy only from situations or just dialog. If you are into giggles, “oh no he didn’t” moments and “the big chick has got to end up with someone” drama then give this a try but warning you now if may not be your cup of tea. Oh yeah, Ronald has a nice voice – well known singer in Asia.

Mike (Daniel Wu) is not really the good cop gone bad, but more so the average person struggling with internal precedence of morals without material support or monetary motivation. The problem is that the external world Mike lives in does not struggle with morals but control which brings money. This movie is about Mike choosing to be in control but of what? At what cost? Can you really control the people around you? Mike finds out. The astounding cast especially Eric Tsang Chi-Wai (Gen X cops and Infernal Affairs) keeps you watching this believable transformation and guessing the result until the end.

There has got to be one! I liked it. Yes it moved a bit slow in the beginning (too slow?!?!?) but Moonse's catch phrase "An Amen Osa stands before you" was absolutely hot (steaming!). Most reviews seem to put this anime down because of the script, clothing choice, expectations of Space Opera etc. That is a shame. I do not agree with negative assessment of these factors offered thus far. This anime is more character driven rather the story propelled which is a turn off for many. The gravitational dynamics between Cleo and his gang or even with Michel draws you into the characters. The French-like attire and swords etc, is an example of human nature's tendency to hold on to traditions passed down even if they are outdated. Remember, they are not earthlings, they are humans. This space opera stays true to the madness of human nature. Even showing how displacement of need when rejected can turn to obsession. It was a real instinctive script filled with male anti-heroes and no cookie cutter females (Can I Get an AMEN! ppl). An anime that even Spike could sink his teeth into. I give it a 4.5. WHY? I would say that the first volume drawing style was not clean or even and that could be a distraction. There were times when Cleo’s nose seemed to be slapped too far to the right or left and his eyes heavy with eyeliner almost Emo like. But, these glitches are easily overcome because the story was SATISFYING.

I think I was doing ok until that last two episodes. When it was all over I declared “Well I’ll be a Monkey’s tongue if I did not end up in the most distasteful place.” What disturbs me the most was not the heroes’s lack of supernatural abilities or the lack of female kicking booty. No! It was Aya. Aya. Aya. I become somewhat invested in him. And now I am just pissed off – unfortunately. I would be worst off if I saw the series first. Aya. Aya. Aya. Nuff said.

Here is the problem. They attempted to mix the drawing styles of Req. from the Darkness with the dark overtones of Noein. The style became a distraction and ultimately killed it for me. If you could get passed the style then I am betting this was a very good anime but I couldn't.

Seriously though, this movie has action, laughter, etc. and gets 5 stars for a “Hell Yeah” moment in the plane. This is my kinda guy. He ain’t gots the time to listen to some guy’s final confession before literally biting the bullet. Just die. FCOL! This maybe a bit too violent for some but for those who are tired of the cliché “bad guy doing a good deed” routine and wants someone to get to the point and get it right then Mr. Smith is your man. He brings the Transporter movies to mind. Yup, I used to like carrots now I LOVE CARROTS!

Stylish, slightly obscure drawing technique with sultry theme music, adds to the mysterious nature of the well developed characters and plots. The in-you-face stories are thematic (lies, incest, murder, greed, etc.) and abrasive, causing a "Daaaammmmnnnn!" reaction. For something just a little different, dark and deadly, try a bowl of this soup.

Yet, Kyo kept me watching. Kyo, Benitora and the gang kept the story alive and the encounters thrilling. Yes, only one technique is used for most of the animes but it fits into the story line. Besides we look forward to it each time. The theme of true friendship is echoed throughout and is the reason why many characters are still alive in the end. The historical aspect gave the anime weight. The drawings skill was very good and clear as well as the translation. But it is the end that has given this anime a mystical feel. We wonder who survive the ultimate battle. This may bother a few but we are not meant to know everything and there is nothing wrong with a little mystery.

Unlike the current action genre that is often blinding and deafening with explosions, Babylon A.D. offers an intriguing story, interesting concepts and held the promises of a unique film. If you are frustrated with the film because it seems to present gaps, missing links or an unfinished feeling, you are not the only one. The director, Kassovitz, is grinding his teeth. Don’t look at Vin Diesel, because both he and Michelle made what they were given appealing and distinctive. Turn your angry fists at the production company who apparently cut out about 10 mins. However, what amazes me is that individuals and critics found it confusing! What was confusing? I believe if they were paying attention to the story instead of either creating a conclusive critique prior to closing credits or waiting for the next bang, all would’ve been understood. The “unfinished feeling” did not leave gaps in information only time leaps that were a bit awkward. What needs to be developed now would be the story of the babies and how his role as protector evolves – there is where your non-stop bang for your buck will be.

If you are not use to Yaoi themes in anime then this is a good introductory amime. The style and subtitles are also excellent, except for one mistake on the last disc. Nevertheless, the "Heaven's Gate" episode and the ending made me change my 4 star to a 5 star rating. Not as adult as "Mirage of Blaze" or as hilarious as "Kyo Kara Maoh" but just as compelling. Enjoy.

At the end of this action-packed, vivid styled and gut-tightening anime, I found myself prostrated infront of my TV chanting, "we are not worthy, we are 'so' not worthy." This did it for me. The 1997 series' depth and timeless creativity allows this anime to speak to all adults on at least one level. There were no faults, the chracters were solid and the storyline left you craving for more. The writer nursed Berserk into maturity and we are grateful. I hope that once the magna is done that they will continue the series and introduce Puck and Skull Knight. Until then we have the game, the magna and we can watch the series over and over again.

However the most entertaining person was the BAD GUY! So well created was his demented human persona that you wanted the series to continue. 5 stars in my book that keeps you watching.

Not really. Their self abasement existed prior to the rape and initial murder. A movie that could of gone deeper than most lost momentum due to graphic sexual protrait. This disappointed me. Topic was ok, actors were good and even the filming added a unique flavor but the sex killed it for me. Perhaps it is because instead of treating the sex like a serious issue it was used for shock value. Too bad.

OK the plot is beyond laughable but the nakedness was even funnier. This might have passed in the 70's but now it would be a joke. Please do not watch this if you were expecting high calibur acting/plot/sex. No the chessiness of the 70's is not lost on this movie but I would give it high marks for creativity because of the dark magic. literally this is soft porn, good laughs and a few WTFrank questions like "why would you be friendly with the dude that tried to rape you?!?!?!?!?"

Yes, if the title did not clue you in, the cover should do the job. Other than the noted long rape scene, the feminist critique, social commentary and realistic sense of horror, a viewer should at least appreciate the lenght that the director and actors went to to bring a hint of the real. Viewer it is up to you to decided what is more shocking, the rape, the rapists' justification or the vengence. Oh and watch out for the scream that is so dramatically punctuated by the lack of a musical score. You should leave this movie at least thinking and at most, praying.

The music was 5 stars and if that was all that we were rating this movie would be up there but it is not. This was porn and Australia was right. There is no art, poetry, symbolism or depth. It was just porn and a pure excuse for it. If that is what you want to see then fine but if not just get the soundtrack.

Yah know, the plot with a few updates and vernacular improvements may get by in this day and age. However, it was made in the 70's and if bad acting was not enough, they added bad editing and Harry Reems (who turned out to be the best actor?!?!?!). Goodness gracious me I might have made it through but the dancing, the strip tease, oh and the suffocation did me in. Rent only if bored, purchase only if you find the money growing on trees.

The storyline would work today with a lot of updating and the musical score would need to be done over. LOL Are you kidding. THE USE OF SWAN LAKE IN THE SHOWER WAS JUST WRONG! NO ONE THOUGHT OF KILLING OLGA? WHAT HAPPENED TO USING A MACHINE GUN IN THE END? YOU CALL THAT TORTURE? AND THE CAPE, THE CAPE THAT MEANT BUSINESS, WAS THAT A JOKE? Gosh, you could laugh out about how ludacris this was but because of slow development of consistant nudity being revealed, you merely sit in shock and the laughter seems lost in the space of your mouth amidst the thoughts of WTFrying pan is going on?????!?!?!? Like I said I did not hate this movie but I could not love it either.

Ok So I liked it. With just the focus on the plot and the development (very slow mind you) one has to admit that it stays within it's parameters. Most of the main characters are granted a 3 dimensional aura mid-series. You are given the option of liking or disliking them (I like Novem but could not stand the Countess)once a background is created. For this show you need patience to gain the reward and even the full effects of the darkness embedded within this anime. You will have to be judge when in comes to the ending, the last episode, if the characters received fair treatment. If you reach the middle of the series and still not curious or want more then don't watch. However, if there is a bit of light, a morsel of curiosity and a desire to know more than watch till the end. You be the judge if this was worth the time.

Not your typical Vamp story. The beginning &amp; setting gives you the impression that the rest of the film will be outstanding. However, it fell short. The potential was enormous but the writing took a u-turn. The characters were strong but were given typical roles and not allowed to drive the story in any specific direction. The concept of film would draw any vamp lover but the story becomes less erotic. What is missing? A real dilemma, real tension between the hero &amp; the church, and a masterful connection between the-would- be paramours. Perhaps even an in-depth look into the madness of the villain. Because to be honest, if I were the villain I would have escaped before coronation and found a way to contaminate all my brethren, and if I was the writer my villain would have succeeded in the plan and still keep the new born’s storyline. Hope for a part two is dim, but if by some miracle it occurs they going to have to come harder, faster and badder than that. This is a STILL SEE because the actors themselves are superb.
