In this live-action adaptation of a long-running manga series, the line between the human and spirit worlds grows disarmingly thin as bugmaster Ginko (Jô Odagiri) travels from town to town helping people who've had run-ins with mushi, the buglike creatures that represent "the phantom soul of nature." Sometimes mischievous, sometimes menacing, the mushi are neither animal nor vegetable, yet they exert a strong pull over humans.
